Chris Mays has been programming and marketing radio stations for over 30 years. While familiar with many styles of music, her specialty is rock-based music. Her radio career includes on-air work as a disc jockey and news person, as well as Marketing Director, Program Director and Station Manager. She has programmed various music formats including AAA, Adult Rock, Adult Contemporary, Hot AC, Jazz, Oldies and AOR. She has worked with all types of marketing media, including traditional and new media. She has produced more than a dozen live CD's for radio stations, including 10 live 'On The Mountain' CD's, which have generated over $1,000,000 for The Wilderness Society.

Mays was most recently the Program Director of KLLC, in San Francisco, California, a CBS Radio property. "Alice" is a Modern Adult Contemporary Station, featuring music from the late seventies through today. She joined the station in December of 2005, and revamped its music format, broadening the station's library and increasing the different styles played. With her arrival at KLLC, the station also adopted several new technologies.

In February of 2006, Alice began streaming at radioalice.com. In June, it began a text-messaging program, including listeners in a new way to interact with the station. Listeners can text Alice on their cell phones and send requests, messages to the DJ's, participate in polls and enter contests. Both of these technologies have been wildly popular, generating some of the highest participation figures in the company. Mays also developed a new HD channel for Alice, a Chill music channel, primarily ambient and electronic music.

Prior to joining Alice, Mays was the Station Manager and Program Director of KMTT in Seattle, Washington for 15 years. KMTT is known as Adult Album Alternative, or AAA. Chris designed the format for KMTT and signed the station on the air on April 10, 1991. Chris was the Program Director of The Mountain from its inception. KMTT is known as 103.7, The Mountain and plays a broad range of adult rock from artists like Sting, Talking Heads, U2, Jackson Browne, John Hiatt and Coldplay. Chris Mays is nationally recognized as one of the leading programmers in the AAA format.

In the mid-80's, Chris developed KLSY, an Adult Contemporary station in Seattle. She hired Delilah Rene and began Delilah's career at KLSY. She moved to Seattle in 1981 to serve as Promotion Director of KZAM, a legendary AOR station in the 70's. Chris was also the Program Director of KZAM, until changing the station to KLSY in 1983.

Before that, she attended graduate school in Telecommunications at the University of Oregon in Eugene and was the Program Director of KZEL, one of the major freeform progressive stations of the 70's. Chris is a native of Columbus, Ohio. She has a B.S. in Communications from Miami University of Ohio.

In her spare time, Chris roams the neighborhood with pruning shears and secretly prunes her neighbors roses in the right way.
